Upgrading The Future Of EVs With Isuzu D-Max EV In response to the escalating demand for electric vehicles in global auto markets, including India, major automotive companies are actively updating their existing models and introducing new electric vehicles (EVs). As part of this trend, the prominent Japanese automobile manufacturer ISUZU has revealed the electric concept of its D-Max pickup. The company is slated to launch this model in European markets in 2025.

Power and Efficiency of Isuzu D-Max EV

The Isuzu D-Max electric pickup prototype uses a 66.9 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. In this, two electric motors have been used for both axles. In these, the front electric motor produces 54 bhp power and 108 Nm peak torque. While the rear electric motor produces 121 bhp power and 217 Nm. In terms of power output, it is more powerful than the base-spec 1.9-litre diesel variant. Its top speed is 130 km per hour. Let us tell you that the company has not yet disclosed its range. Whereas Isuzu D-Max will come with a strong frame and body and high towing power. Its performance will be at par with the diesel versions.

According to the company, its payload capacity is 1,000 kg, while the pulling capacity is 3,500 kg. The same figure is seen in its diesel model also. Let us tell you that apart from the electric pickup, Isuzu has unveiled the D-Max prototype with a mild-hybrid diesel engine.

As far as the design of Isuzu’s new electric pickup is concerned, it has a newly designed cover grille with blue accents. Apart from this, features like twin-LED projector headlamps with LED DRLs, front fog lamps, roof rails, newly designed 6-spoke wheel covers, and chrome ORVMs have also been included. And “EV Concept” badging is visible on the loading bed.

According to Isuzu, D-Max Electric will first be brought for sale in the European market. After this, it will be introduced in countries like the UK, Australia, and Thailand. At present, there is no clear information about whether D-Max BEV will come into the Indian market or not.

Launch Date and Price Of Isuzu D-Max  EV

Let us tell you that the Isuzu D-Max concept will officially debut on March 27 at the Bangkok International Motor Show to be held in Thailand. According to Isuzu, the payload capacity of the electric D-Max will be similar to its diesel variant. The Isuzu D-Max BEV has been designed to meet the needs of both passenger and commercial vehicles. The new electric pickup will be equipped with a 4WD system with e-axle.

In India, this car will be launched as an entry-level Hi-Lander which would be priced at ₹20 lakh, and the more upscale D-Max-V-Cross will be priced at ₹24  lakhs.
