This Rabbit R1 Will Be A Greater Substitute For Your Mobile Phone At the recent CES event, a variety of innovative gadgets were unveiled, including the Rabbit R1, introduced by an American startup. Developed in collaboration with Teenage Engineering, the Rabbit R1 stands out as a pocket-sized AI assistant boasting a customized operating system. Proponents assert that the Rabbit R1 is poised to supplant smartphones, boasting superior intelligence. This device enters the competitive arena alongside Humane’s AiPin, introduced mere days prior.

The Rabbit R1 boasts a proprietary operating system called Rabbit OS, engineered to eliminate the necessity for downloading external applications onto the device. Leveraging cloud-based services, users can access a wide array of functionalities seamlessly. With Rabbit R1, tasks such as booking transportation, shopping, messaging, and enjoying music can be effortlessly accomplished.

The Rabbit R1 is equipped with a MediaTek processor, along with 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage capacity. Its 2.88-inch screen displays pertinent information such as music playback details, weather updates, and the current time. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi and 4G LTE, with the added convenience of SIM card compatibility for cellular connectivity.

Featuring a 360-degree rotating camera, the Rabbit R1 offers a privacy mode for enhanced security. Users can make both voice and video calls using this compact device. With a 1000mAh battery and a USB Type-C charging port, the Rabbit R1 ensures reliable power supply and convenient recharging.

Jesse Liu, the founder and CEO of the company, articulated the motivation behind developing the device, stating, “In the current landscape, smartphone users are inundated with a multitude of apps, each featuring intricate UX designs that lack interoperability. This fragmentation often leads to user frustration and device abandonment. Rabbit aims to revolutionize the user experience by offering a seamless, app-free interaction empowered by AI technology.”

“Large language models, such as ChatGPT, demonstrate the capability of comprehending natural language through AI. Our Big Action Model elevates this capability by not only generating text in response to human input but also by generating actionable steps to facilitate task completion.
The Rabbit R1 features a 2.88-inch touchscreen and operates on the proprietary Rabbit OS. Notably, the Rabbit R1 is powered by a ‘large action model,’ enabling it to anticipate users‘ intentions and behaviors.”

The Rabbit R1 is priced at $199, approximately Rs 16,500, and will initially be offered in a single color option: Orange. Sales are scheduled to commence in the United States in April, with pre-orders accepted until March 31. Following the US launch, the Rabbit R1 will gradually roll out to additional markets, including Canada, Denmark, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, South Korea, Japan, Sweden, and the United Kingdom.
