Protect Your Important Things From Getting Lost With Apple Air Tag The Apple AirTag is a compact tracking device designed for attaching to luggage, enabling users to monitor its location effectively. Weighing just 11 grams, this lightweight device offers a reliable solution for retrieving lost belongings. Additionally, it provides the capability to monitor the handling of luggage at airports, offering insights into its treatment throughout the travel process. Moreover, users can leverage AirTag data to substantiate claims of luggage damage incurred during airline handling.

Apple introduced this innovative device in April 2021, leveraging ultra-wideband technology to enable precise tracking via the Apple Find My Network. Compatible with iPhone and iPad devices, the Apple AirTag seamlessly integrates with your existing Apple ecosystem. By affixing it to your luggage, you gain the ability to effortlessly track its location in the event of loss. Real-time updates and notifications regarding the AirTag’s status and location are conveniently accessible via your connected smartphone.

Recently Apple’s AirTag played a pivotal role in aiding a woman from Florida, USA, in locating her missing dog. After the dog went missing from the owner’s residence for an extended period, efforts to locate it proved unsuccessful. However, the situation changed when the owner discovered the dog’s whereabouts using the Apple AirTag. In a statement provided to Apple Insider, the owner recounted the events, explaining that the dog likely slipped out of the house while she was taking out the garbage. Fortunately, due to the presence of an AirTag GPS tracker attached to the dog’s collar, locating the pet became possible.

The AirTag is a small, button-designed tracking device, with a bright white front that can be customized with a silver backing. AirTags are designed around a CR2032 battery that’s housed inside and requires additional accessories to attach to an item. AirTag is 1.26 inches in diameter, and its height is 0.31 inches or 8mm. Its weight is 0.39 11 grams.

AirTags are added and managed in the ‌Find My‌ app under the ‘Item’ tab. Like other Apple devices, each AirTag is displayed on a map in the ‌Find My‌ app so you can see its location. AirTags connect to your iOS and macOS devices over Bluetooth.

Apple has added a U1 chip to each AirTag so you can see its exact location, indoors or outdoors, if it’s near you. There are built-in speakers to play sounds to find lost AirTags in the house, and you can either play sounds through the Find My app or ask Siri to find AirTags with sound.

If an AirTag is lost or stolen, the ‌Find My‌ network can help locate it. ‌The Find My network leverages hundreds of millions of iPhone, iPad, and Mac devices to help you locate an AirTag when it appears on a map and when it is located by someone else’s device.

Apple hasn’t detailed the AirTag’s range, but most Bluetooth ranges are around 100 meters, so the AirTag should be trackable at least to that distance. The AirTag has an IP67 water and dust resistance rating, which means it can withstand being submerged in up to one meter (3.3 feet) of water for 30 minutes.
